4 months

**edit** More Luck!!! Today at work one of my students from China came to me and gave me a Chinese knot! She told me of how the knot and the colour red will bring me luck. Yeah! I've received this gift before but today it felt like it had extra meaning. Maybe this knot will bring us even more luck! We've got the Irish and the Chinese on our side, now we just need some Ethiopian luck to come our way!

I was looking for a picture to go with our four month milestone and I found this four leaf clover. I had to use it because our dossier arrived in Ethiopia on St.Patrick's Day!!! Maybe this is a sign.... lucky number four!
On second thought, yeah right.... this would be extremely wishful thinking since no referrals have come in in the past month. This means that there are many people waiting ahead of us and I feel so bad for them because they have been told that it will be soon and now they're almost waiting 8 months!

And so the waiting continues.... I still find joy though in thinking that if our referral does come in at six months then that means we could see our boys face in 8 WEEKS!!!! 8 WEEKS! I am going to continue to be hopeful....

yes, let's think of it as a sign.
I think it's going to be really soon! I can't believe how fast 4 months has gone by!

Emily,

Keep in mind that there are a TON of people not on the loop. When they sent out an email way back in Feb it lsited all the people they had in the agency at that time. There were 197 people. Just like everyone else with their colour coordinated pens and spreadsheets I was able to figure out less than half of the people's requests. This was based on the data base, online chatting etc.

Now I know of people who have received referrals in the last month. They have just not chosen to share. But be encouraged, referrals are happening. Both single children, siblings, and babies!

Hang in there!! I do not know why Imagine does not share the Canada Adopts, unless it makes them feel threatened in some odd way.

Things are moving along, we just can't see it. :o)

I did write them today and ask them to show us the movement, so I am waiting to see what happens.

What I learned when I was in the process was to expect the worst and hope for the best. Think 8 months and then try to imagine all the things you really need to get done before your little ones comes home. Cause once he is home you will have no time! I did this and it really filled my time and I didn't have time to even think before I had the referral.

And then each stage after has been the same! I am finally starting to get everything done. LOL! And I have had 7 months already!

Hope this helps,

Blessings, Justine

I love the clover picture... it's a nice symbol of hoping for good things.

Don't let the slow referrals get you down! Keep thinking positively. Even if you take Justine's suggestion, and prepare for something beyond 6 months, what is an extra few weeks? Not much really. 12 weeks would fly by almost as quickly as 8.

It's like being stranded on a desert island. When you've already been there 3 months, what's another few weeks, right Kate? Oops, I mean Emily.

hehe

(Come on next season!!)

Congratulations on another month down. I think your 4-leaf clover is a very good sign of the wonderful things to come.

Positivity never hurts! I want to meet your boy and Diannes girl! I can't wait until we can get our kids together...
I was thinking today and next summer I'll kick Grant out of the house for the weekend (he and the dog can go camping) and we can have a girls and babies weekend at my house? Fun idea, yeah?
