Day 5
Day 5: Today we had to go to the dutch embassy to see about getting Moses a visitors visa so we could leave the airport in Amsterdam. After we drove up Entoto mountain. This was probably one of my favourite things we did in Addis. It was so nice to get out of the busy city and see green and breathe clean air. But it was also so heart breaking to pass all the women carrying firewood literally looking at you begging you for money. Solomon told us that they would go up and down the mountain and make 1 dollar a day. At the top of the mountain there is a small museum that we visited, an Orthodox church, and Menelik's palace.

I'm so excited reading all your posts and seeing pictures, because I finally know it's my turn right away!
I love, love, love reading about the whole trip in Ethiopia. Thanks for posting, even when we know you're busy :)
How was the palace? Your guide, Solomon, does he work with the agency or a volunteer, where did you find him? or did he find you? seems a really great idea to have someone with you to help you explore and be comfortable.
Great pics! Love hearing the stories. I think this is how I'm gonna have to hear about it :( Maybe one day before our kids are adults will I be able to sit down and talk to you about your trip!
hey emmy... the market looked amazing! it was so great to read your blog today without bawling lol. I saw a purse i wanted... i wonder if they accept paypal? :) it made me think of Nicaragua with the kids begging right when we got off the bus... so sad to live like that. i'm glad mosey is going to live a life free from that in Canada. he looks so stinking happy!
Your blog postings are awesome. That would have been sad to see those women working so hard...I like that picture of Mike with all the little kids! They all looked so excited to have their picture taken. Cool! Keep the blogs coming!
Hey Em,
Love the updates and pictures! You guys look like naturals with a baby =)
I think your photos might be overlapping because they are too large. When you add a picture, try choosing small or medium size and see if that helps. If not, you might need to expand the width of your blog for the size of your photos. To do that you'll need to go into your template...
Hope that helps!
Love, Bonnie
Thanks for taking the time to post this.... I love reading about what will hopefully happen to us!! We are planning on doing the Amsterdam route as well.... did it work out getting the visa??? Could you leave the airport alright??
Cheers Lyndsey
