officially Moses!
That's right.... after being home almost 6 MONTHS (crazy!!!) I finally finished filling out the name-change forms, and after making a mistake and having it sent back to me (no surprise)..... it is official.
Our sweet little Samuel Michael Krabbendam is now legally Moses Samuel Meseret Krabbendam. Wow, we really did give him a long name!
Now to get his care card fixed, apply for a SIN number, and most importantly fill out those citizenship forms.
Did I mention how much I HATE government paper-work? I can interpret every question in a variety of ways. I am already stumped on part one. Ugh.

Glad to hear the name change is done!
For citizenship...make sure you use this application, and not do part 1 and part 2 (if you went PRV)

Rhonda!!! Thank you thank you thank you! This application looks WAY easier. Why did I have some other one???
Congrats!!!
Yeah!!! Glad Moses is no longer having an identity crisis! Are you going to have a citizenship party once Mose is officially Canadian???
YAY MOSES!!!
Go figure... we applied for name change just after getting home and AB vital stats lost some of the paperwork without telling us. We're at 12 weeks and counting, instead of the usual 2!!!! (GRRR!)
FYI - the CIT app you were looking at was the "new" one for bringing kids home as citizens (the way that would put restrictions onhow he could pass citizenship onto his children). The one Rhonda gave you is the old (and better) way.
OMG, I was at my mom's for dinner tonight and call everyone over to see your sweat precious boy - he is just perfect.

Congratulations Moses! He is growing up so much... Love the lawn chair.

It must have felt good to have Moses' name official.
YAY!!! What an adorable baby he is.
That is awesome! Love the picture - he is sooo adorable :)
Well I think I have you beat. We just sent in Emmett's name change paperwork this week... 2 years to the day that he's been home. Apparently we were really busy... for all 730 days? Nope. Just lazy and not really wanting to shell out the cash for something I think should be free. How long did it take for you to get the paperwork back?
Your son is adorable!

Hey Courtney,
few... now I don't feel so bad!!! lol.
It should only take a few weeks. and I agree, it should be free!!! And so should a lot of other things in the adopting process!

Rock on Moses! My chica is still Kalkidan on anything official after over 2 YEARS home! I sent off the paperwork 2 months ago, it came back b/c of a mistake and then I re-sent, but so far, nada. sooo frustrating.
